What We Do
Light Up Burkina exists to glorify God by proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ and through the implantation of new testament evangelical churches among unreached people groups and unreached villages in Burkina Faso. Our focus is in gospel proclamation, teaching, discipleship, supporting national churches, and supporting national church planters. Our vision of supporting national church planting includes partnering to build infrastructure (churches, pastors homes, wells & other buildings & projects) , assisting in continued learning for pastors and elders, helping pastors with micro enterprising efforts that help to provide for themselves and their families as well as contributing to the health and economic development of their communities.
We are convinced that the best way to see churches planted and grow is to partner with our Burkinabe brothers who have advanced skills in local languages, who understand indigenous culture and customs, and who are passionate about seeing the unreached reached and transformed for Christ. Our goal is to encourage and strengthen national pastors and church planters as they advance the Kingdom of Light. We believe that Light Up Burkina, it's supporters and partners have been called to be like Aaron and Hur in Exodus 17 to our Burkinabe brothers and sisters as the battle for the lost rages here in Burkina Faso. We are consistently humbled by the walk of national pastors while enduring untold hardships for Jesus' sake. Missionaries come and go, but these pastors are here to stay and are fighting in the trenches day in and day out! Click here to see how you can get involved.
Light Up Burkina values fraternity and unity over independence, tribalism and division. We want to "Major on the majors and minor on the minors". For too long division has marked western evangelical denominations. We work with faithful evangelical churches. No two churches have the exact stance on secondary and tertiary issues, so let's focus on the primary issues we all agree on. Statement of Faith.
